Happy Halloween!

Campbell had a great Halloween this year. He went as an Astronaut. We went to a couple parties and had a great day eating and playing. No trick-or-treating this year. Mommy and Daddy didn't want the candy in the house.

The first photos were taken by Terri Smith for the 2nd annual Pumpkin Patch Photo shoot benefiting the TMH Cancer Foundation in Marcia Click's name. The photo shoot raised over $600 for cancer research.

First Haircut

A couple weeks ago, the Harrison clan met us at Seminole Barbershop to carry on the tradition. Every Harrison boy since Tom has had their first hair cut by either Larry or Dwayne. 7 little boys and Campbell makes 8. There is actually a picture in the barbershop of Joey, Andy, and Tom when Joey was getting his first hair cut 29 years ago. So, as you can see, it is quite the tradition.

Keys + Lock = Open Door

Campbell surprised me today! He grabbed my keys off the desk...yes, he can now reach things at a desk level and boy are we in trouble. Walked straight over to the door and tried to put a single key in the door knob. He was unsuccessful, but I am sure one day, far too soon for my liking, he will figure it out. Here is a picture of him trying to get the key in the door knob. I didn't get my camera out fast enough to capture his attempt at the actual knob, but this is close enough.

The Wonder Year

The first year was amazing! Campbell seemed to change daily. I've always heard parents say how quickly the first year goes and how much a baby changes in the first year, but it really doesn't hit home until you experience parenthood.
Here are some pictures for everyone to see how quickly Campbell changed in only 12 months.

Happy Birthday Campbell!

This post is a few weeks late...

Dear Campbell,

Happy birthday to the happiest baby in the world. Mama and Dada received the best gift in the world when you were born. You have taught us to love in a new way. There are no words to express how much we love you.

The first year of your life has been an amazing ride. You changed from a helpless infant to an independent toddler, from cooing to talking, from laying to sitting and now standing. You wave hello and bye-bye, blow kisses, and point at everything. You are quite the observer and don't miss anything. Your smile lights up a room and you love to flirt with the ladies. You are quite the talker and you learn a new word almost daily.

1st Year Words (the list is missing some):
  • Dadee
  • MaMa (only when you are upset)
  • Doggie
  • Duck
  • Thank You
  • Love You
  • Turtle
  • Ball
  • Angie (pronounced Gee)
  • Hi
  • Bye-Bye
  • Fish (pronounced Ish)

Favorite Foods:

  • Avocado (Loves guacamole and has been known to scoop handfuls out of a bowl when we weren't looking)
  • Apple Sauce
  • Sweet Potatoes
  • Bananas

Favorite Toys:

  • Leap Frog Learning Table
  • Sword
  • Bat
  • Ball (love to play catch with Daddy)

During your first year, you had many first times...cooing, smiling, rolling, sitting, crawling, standing, yelling, laughing, dancing, waving, clapping and many many more. You have made Mommy and Daddy complete. We love you more than you will ever know and look forward to the future to watch you grow and experience many more firsts,

HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY CAMPBELL!

Love,

Mommy and Daddy

Flamingo Gardens with The Boguns

While we were in Fort Lauderdale we visit with the Bogun's -- Alison, Damien, and Dylan. I wanted to do something outside with the boys and came up with this great idea to go to Flamingo Gardens. Well, maybe it wasn't the best idea, but at least we were able to spend more time with Alison and Dylan even if we had sweat dripping off of us. The boys seemed to enjoy looking at all the exotic birds, catching a glimpse of an alligator, and seeing the otters play. We also saw some unexpected spiders along the way...yikes!!!

What is that Mommy?

Another weird looking bird...

I was trying to get both boys to look at me, but as you can see I wasn't successful.

Thanks, Alison for meeting me at Flamingo Gardens and for letting me borrow the pack n' play and stroller. You were a lifesaver! It was great seeing you and the family. Hope to see you again very soon!

First Boat Ride...

...0r should i say Yacht? Saturday afternoon my Uncle Sean took us out on his 50 plus foot Sea Ray. I love this boat. I've been aboard on it to the Bahamas and other various adventures throughout the years and I never get tired of it. This boat has all the comforts of home, but it floats on the ocean. Campbell really seemed to enjoy the ride. I'm not really if he was aware that he was on the water riding in a boat, but he sure loved looking out at the ocean from the upper deck.

Fort Lauderdale

We took a mini vacation to Fort Lauderdale a couple weeks ago to visit my Dad's family. I have fond memories of going there as a child and I wanted to start building those for Campbell. Also, My Aunt Teri (Aunt T for short) and Uncle Sean had never met Campbell. So, this trip was very much needed and enjoyed by all.

Campbell LOVES balloons... He can spend what seems like hours (really probably only 10 minutes) playing with them.

We spent a lot of time in the pool. My Grandmother and Aunt & Uncle have pools at their houses, so we ended up in the pool every day. Good thing Campbell loves the water. By the end of the trip he would point at the pool and kick his legs in excitement.

Campbell has mastered steps...the only problem is he goes down them head first. I'm hoping he learns to turn around or we may end up with a nasty knot on his head one day very soon. He went up and down the step at my Grandmother's house hundreds of times each. Just couldn't get enough...

Sunday night at the Fort Lauderdale Yacht Club. My Aunt and Uncle are members and invited us to join them for dinner. Campbell flirted with everyone that walked by especially if they had a plate of food. Great food and beautiful scenery - what more could we want?!
