Flamingo Gardens with The Boguns

While we were in Fort Lauderdale we visit with the Bogun's -- Alison, Damien, and Dylan. I wanted to do something outside with the boys and came up with this great idea to go to Flamingo Gardens. Well, maybe it wasn't the best idea, but at least we were able to spend more time with Alison and Dylan even if we had sweat dripping off of us. The boys seemed to enjoy looking at all the exotic birds, catching a glimpse of an alligator, and seeing the otters play. We also saw some unexpected spiders along the way...yikes!!!

What is that Mommy?

Another weird looking bird...

I was trying to get both boys to look at me, but as you can see I wasn't successful.

Thanks, Alison for meeting me at Flamingo Gardens and for letting me borrow the pack n' play and stroller. You were a lifesaver! It was great seeing you and the family. Hope to see you again very soon!

First Boat Ride...

...0r should i say Yacht? Saturday afternoon my Uncle Sean took us out on his 50 plus foot Sea Ray. I love this boat. I've been aboard on it to the Bahamas and other various adventures throughout the years and I never get tired of it. This boat has all the comforts of home, but it floats on the ocean. Campbell really seemed to enjoy the ride. I'm not really if he was aware that he was on the water riding in a boat, but he sure loved looking out at the ocean from the upper deck.

Fort Lauderdale

We took a mini vacation to Fort Lauderdale a couple weeks ago to visit my Dad's family. I have fond memories of going there as a child and I wanted to start building those for Campbell. Also, My Aunt Teri (Aunt T for short) and Uncle Sean had never met Campbell. So, this trip was very much needed and enjoyed by all.

Campbell LOVES balloons... He can spend what seems like hours (really probably only 10 minutes) playing with them.

We spent a lot of time in the pool. My Grandmother and Aunt & Uncle have pools at their houses, so we ended up in the pool every day. Good thing Campbell loves the water. By the end of the trip he would point at the pool and kick his legs in excitement.

Campbell has mastered steps...the only problem is he goes down them head first. I'm hoping he learns to turn around or we may end up with a nasty knot on his head one day very soon. He went up and down the step at my Grandmother's house hundreds of times each. Just couldn't get enough...

Sunday night at the Fort Lauderdale Yacht Club. My Aunt and Uncle are members and invited us to join them for dinner. Campbell flirted with everyone that walked by especially if they had a plate of food. Great food and beautiful scenery - what more could we want?!

Happy Birthday America

Happy July 4th!!! For the long holiday weekend we made our way down the Point - Alligator Point that is! My Aunt and Uncle have a beautiful home that has both Gulf and Bay views. We had a great time. Campbell had a blast crawling up and down the beach and chewing on seaweed. We visited some with the Dozier's & Earp's and Campbell loved every bit of the extra attention.

I tried to keep Campbell awake for the fireworks, but it was a lost cause. He was fast asleep once the fireworks started. I guess he'll have to wait till next year. We had quite the display. We could see fireworks in every direction from the deck; off in the distance were the Dog Island, behind the house we could see St. Teresa, and to the left and right of us there were even more fireworks. It was a great weekend! Thank you, Aunt Christy and Uncle JK!

I love this picture of Cam sticking his tongue out holding a beer. Kinda gives the impression that he just took a big gulp of beer and how refreshed he feels after it.
Pretty cool story behind this picture. This high chair is 70 plus years old. It was my Uncle's when he was a baby and he turned 70 on July 11th. I used this high chair when I was a baby at the beach and now Campbell is using it. We are starting a tradition in the family. I will try to find a picture of me sitting in the high chair when I was Cam's age and post it on the blog. Pretty cool, huh?
Don't mess with my cheerios...

First Flight

Campbell flew on a airplane for the first time on Friday. We headed down to Fort Lauderdale to visit my Grandmother aka Gammy and Aunt Teri and Uncle Sean. The flight was an hour and half long. Campbell was a happy camper on the flight and passed out for the last 40 minutes of the flight. He is such a trooper!

11 Months Old

WOW!!! I can't believe Campbell will be a year in a month. So much has changed in 11 months and a lot has changed in the last month. Babies are amazing little creatures.

Recent changes:
We are down to only one bottle a day. So far, so good! Campbell loves crackers and would eat them and nothing else for every meal. He is eating more and more meat along with all the same veggies and fruits he loves. Last week I broke down and feed him a hotdog. Can you believe that? I absolutely HATE hotdogs! We were at a baseball game, and I figured he could have one hotdog. I was hoping it might be his last, but he scarfed it down, so I'm pretty sure he will enjoy many more hotdogs in his future.

Campbell continues to crawl around the house and is getting faster and faster. He pulls up on everything, and is now trying to stand up from a seated position with nothing around to help him up. He has yet to be successful, but I'm sure it will happen before long.
His new favorite hangout spot in the house. He just pulls up on the baby gate and stands there for a while looking out the windows to the back yard...maybe it's his way of telling me he wants to go outside and play.
He continues to add words to his vocabulary. He now says Duck, Ducky, Bat, GeeGee for his sitter Angie, and occasionally when I say, "I Love You", Campbell will say, "Ov Ewe". His favorite toys are balls, a sword (from his friend Logan's birthday party), learning table, and anything that an adult might be using that he thinks he needs. He loves to play with remote controls, cell phones, keys, pens, a broom. He has quite a "big" personality! Some say it reminds them of me at that age. Hmm...I guess I'll take it as a compliment. :)
Campbell didn't go to the doctor for a well check-up this month, so we had to weigh him on the home baby scale. He didn't sit still very long, so it was hard to get an accurate reading. The scale finally stopped at 23 lbs 2 oz. He is growing and learning so fast, it's hard to keep up!
Bye, Bye until the next post.

Happy Father's Day!

We had a low key Father's Day weekend. Joey golfed on Saturday morning while Campbell and I hung out around the house. It was so HOT (105 degrees with the heat index) that Camp crawled over to the vent on the floor and plopped right down on it to cool off. I thought this was so cute and smart of him...
When Joey got home from a long HOT round of golf, we all took a dip in the pool.
Campbell practicing his freestyle. I think he has it down...watch out Michael Phelps!

On Sunday, we let Joey sleep in until 9:30am!!! Normally, Campbell has us both up by 8am because he is so noisy talking and banging things together. So, this was a real treat for Joey. :)

Campbell helping me unload the dishwasher while Daddy sleeps. He is such a happy little helper!

Now he is taking things out of the cabinet and not being much help. He was a great helper for a brief moment.
We woke Joey up and gave him his gifts. Campbell seems a little more excited about unwrapping the presents then Joey.

We met G & G Harrison for lunch and had a great time visiting. We relaxed all afternoon and then head to the Pros vs. Joes flag football game. Charlie was the QB for the Joes. He played great! Still has the athletic moves of an 18 year old...
Campbell and Joey with Tucker, Charlie's brother

We put water on Campbell's head to cool him down and then I decided I would give him a Mohawk. I think he looks pretty cute with one!

We had a wonderful Father's Day and it was extra special because it was the very first one for Joey. HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!!
